Mapmedia TZ Maps charts

TimeZero is compatible with the latest Mapmedia "TZ Maps" charts. TZ Maps is a revolutionary development in the world of maritime cartography, combining multiple types of charts, overlays, and features unlike anything seen before! TZ Maps includes Vector Charts, Raster charts (on selected areas), and the new BathyVision (high resolution bathy data). A fantastic way to compare data and make sure you get the best information available.

TZ Maps includes all these innovative features with a single purchase:

• Vector and Raster charts (raster charts only available on selected areas)

• BathyVision: High Resolution Depth Shading and Depth Contour Lines (Fishing Charts) dynamically generated from bathymetric data

Mapmedia TZ Maps charts are licensed and must be purchased. Visit the Mapmedia TZ Maps Catalog to view the TZ Maps chart coverage.

Note: Additional information can be integrated into TZ Maps vector charts in the form of supplementary data, known as "Xtra Data". They are automatically available to all users who own and navigate in the TZ Maps charts area concerned. Xtra Data are displayed by default, but users can choose to hide them from the "Vector Charts" options.

Mapmedia .mm3d charts

TimeZero is also compatible with the older generation ".mm3d" charts. Mapmedia .mm3d charts are available in Raster Chart format or in Vector Chart format (requiring a separate purchase). Mapmedia Raster Charts are scanned from official hydrographic offices paper charts (called "MM3D Raster"). Mapmedia Vector Charts are manufactured from official hydrographic office vector charts (called "MM3D S-57") or from privately furnished vector charts from C-MAP (called "MM3D C-MAP").

Mapmedia .mm3d charts for the USA (MM3D S-57) are free and can be downloaded and updated at any time without unlock code:

Mapmedia .mm3d charts for outside the USA are licensed and require purchasing an unlock code. Visit the Mapmedia .mm3d Catalog to view the .mm3d chart coverage.

Note: High Resolution Satellite picture can be produced on demand for a small area of 10NM by 10NM maximum (to cover a harbor for example).

Note: All Mapmedia charts (.mm3d and TZ Maps) are produced in the WGS84 coordinate reference. Make sure that your GPS is set to output its position in this format (which is the default format of most GPS units).

Official ENC charts

S57 Charts ("ENC")

TimeZero is compatible with the official S57 charts. In the USA, these charts are free and can be directly downloaded from TimeZero using the "Manage ENC" window.

S63 Charts ("Encrypted ENC")

TimeZero is compatible with the official S63 encrypted charts. These charts can be purchased from official ENC distributors (UKHO, Primar, Chartworld, ...). In order to purchase official S63 charts, a "User Permit" must be provided to the S63 chart distributor. The "User Permit" is available from the "Manage ENC" window under the "Manage S-63 Permits" tab.
