Furuno NavNet TZtouch 2, TZtouch 3 and TZT XL

Furuno TZtouch2, TZtouch3, and TZT XL multifunction displays (MFDs) are powerful onboard navigation systems that integrate charting, sensors, radar, and vessel instrumentation into a single display. These MFDs are designed to act as the central navigation hub on board and can create their own wireless network for connected devices.

When your mobile device running TZ iBoat is connected to the Wi-Fi network created by a compatible Furuno MFD, user objects such as marks, routes, and boundaries are automatically synchronized between TZ iBoat and the MFD. This ensures that navigation planning and updates performed on either device are immediately reflected on the other.

In addition to synchronizing user objects, the MFD shares real-time navigation data over the Wi-Fi network. TZ iBoat can receive all available navigation information from the MFD, including position, course and speed over ground, heading, depth, wind, and AIS data as long as you are subscribed to the TZ iBoat Essential plan (which allows Wi-Fi Gateway connectivity). This allows TZ iBoat to display the same navigation data as the primary onboard system.

No manual configuration is required in TZ iBoat for this integration. As soon as TZ iBoat detects a compatible Furuno MFD on the Wi-Fi network, it automatically uses it as a data source. In this configuration, the MFD effectively acts as a navigation data repeater for TZ iBoat, providing a convenient and reliable way to extend the onboard navigation system to a mobile device anywhere on the vessel. 

IMPORTANT: If your Furuno MFD supports TZ MAPS charts, you do not need to purchase the charts separately in TZ iBoat. When a TZ MAPS chart is purchased on a Furuno MFD, it is unlocked for one year in TZ iBoat, provided that you are logged in with the same My TimeZero account on both the MFD and TZ iBoat. This makes TZ iBoat an ideal companion to a Furuno MFD.
