TZ Online AIS
IMPORTANT: TZ online AIS requires you to purchase the AIS Module in order to connect TZ iBoat to an AIS receiver or transceiver and display AIS targets on your charts. To purchase the AIS module, click on the “TZ” button located on the top left of your screen, select “Store” and then “Modules”.
In addition to displaying the AIS targets provided by your receiver, the AIS Module also gives you access to AIS targets beyond your local range by connecting to our global AIS network via the Internet. When enabled, all AIS targets within the range of your local receiver are automatically shared with the community. TZ Online AIS also allows you to access AIS targets worldwide via the internet, even without an AIS receiver on board.
To show or hide Online AIS targets on the chart, simply tap the "Layers" button in the bottom right corner of the screen, then tap the "TZ Online AIS button":
The “TZ Online AIS” symbols are small orange triangles. The AIS symbol (triangle) indicates the boat's direction, while the length of the dotted line indicates the boat's COG (Course Over Ground). The label below the symbol indicates the boat's name and speed:
You can get available information (such as boat name, MMSI, course and speed, and other information) about a selected AIS target by simply tapping on it.
Note that this service allows you to keep "TZ Online AIS" targets around you on the screen, even if the Wi-Fi is turned off for a few moments.
Disable the "TZ Online AIS" Connection
"TZ Online AIS" is enabled by default, but if you don't want to share and upload AIS targets around you with the community, you can turn off "TZ Online AIS" at any time by tapping the "TZ" button in the top left corner of your screen, then tapping your account (at the top) and turning off "TZ Online AIS":
