DSC Targets

DSC equipped marine radios provide vessel tracking for both DSC polling and distress calls. When you poll another boater who is also equipped with DSC VHF for their position, TimeZero will display their returned position. TimeZero can be connected to a VHF using NMEA0183 through the Connection Wizard.

When DSC is configured, DSC targets can be displayed from the "Target" button located in the ribbon:

Note: DSC will not appear under the "Target" button until it has been configured in the Connection Wizard.

By default, DSC targets will display their MMSI number on screen. You can replace that number by a Nickname from the DSC Favorite list located in the Targets Options.

When a DSC distress call is received by TimeZero, an alarm will be triggered and the DSC target icon will be displayed in red.
