Archiving

The "Record & Replay" module needs to be configured to access this feature.

TimeZero can store and playback up to 30 days of data in its memory (this time limit is set to 7 days by default). Recorded data is stored by default on the local hard drive inside the Windows "ProgramData" folder. You can adjust the time limit (in between 3 and 30 days) and choose if the old data is deleted or archived from the Record & Replay Options under "Archive".

Note: For most application, you don't need to select the maximum number of days (30 days). In order to save space on the local hard drive and free up resources in TimeZero, it is recommended to only select the number of days you need for instant and immediate replay within TimeZero. Just select the number of days you need for instant and immediate data access knowing the fact that you can always setup a backup location for older data.

If you select to archive the old data, TimeZero will prompt you to select an archive folder (located usually on a secondary Hard Drive, secondary Partition or on a Network Storage). TimeZero will automatically transfer the oldest data continuously (data that would be older than the setting). For example, if you set the limit to 7 days (default), TimeZero will automatically transfer any data older than 7 days from the local hard drive to the backup location.

When a backup location has been selected, the amount of data that can be stored is only limited by the size of the hard drive. If the archive drive becomes full, the oldest data on the archive location will start to get purged weekly (to make more space for newer archived data).

If something happens to the archive location, an alarm will be raised explaining the problem ("Disk Full", "Disk Lost"). Archiving will resume automatically after fixing the problem.

Note: If you have set the limit to 30 days, but if your local hard drive has not enough space to store all the data, a first alarm will be triggered in TimeZero ("Disk Low Space Alarm") if the remaining disk space falls below 20GB. It is recommended to adjust the archiving duration by decreasing the amount of day recorded if you see this alarm or make some room on the drive. If nothing is done, and if the hard drive falls below 5GB, a "Disk Full Alarm" will be triggered and the recording of data will stop to avoid overfilling the disk.
