Initial Setup
Demo Mode: When enabled, the boat can be moved anywhere on the chart (tap anywhere and select “Move Boat” from the Pop-Up menu). If you activate a route, the boat will follow the route.
NMEA Instrument Connections
Enable, disable, reorder or add Instruments Sources. The order defines connection priority, and the status shows if each instrument is connected and sending valid data.
My Gateway: Enable the connection to a Wireless NMEA Gateway.
Press this button to activate or to configure the NMEA Gateway parameters and the Pilot. Please refer to the Autopilot Connection chapter and to the External Instruments (NMEA0183) chapter for more information.
NavNet MFDs : Press this button to enable the connexion to receive the data available on your Furuno NavNet MFD.
TZ Professional / Navigator : Press this button to enable the connexion to receive the data available on your TZ Professional or TZ Navigator.
GPS Interne : Appuyez sur cette option pour activer et paramétrer la connexion aux données de votre GPS Interne.
Displays some internal GPS information as well as the Authorization status.
NavData Maximum Depth: Used to adjust the maximum scale of the depth NavData when displayed using graphic gauge.
Depth Display: Users can choose to display the depth below the waterline or below keel. This requires the user to enter proper values for "Keel Draft" and "Transducer Draft"
Transducer Draft Source: When set to "automatic", TZ iBoat will try to use the offset sent by the depth sounder (inside the NMEA0183 sentence) and revert to the offset set below if it is missing. When set to "hardware", TZ iBoat will only use the offset received by the sounder (causing lack of data if the sounder is not sending the proper offset). When set to "manual", TZ iBoat will only use the offset set below:
Keel Draft: The value for "Keel Draft" is also a positive value (enter the distance in between the water line and the bottom of the Keel).
Transducer Draft: The value for "Transducer Draft" is always a positive value (enter the distance in between the water line and the position of the transducer).
Damping
COG & SOG Damping: This setting can be useful when the GPS sends unreliable COG value (a COG that “jumps all over the place”) to smooth the value in TZ iBoat. Increasing this value will raise the COG & SOG averaging time (but will decrease the response time).
Wind Speed/Direction Damping: This setting smooths the wind data. Increasing this value will raise the Wind averaging time (but will decrease the response time).
Offset
Wind Speed / Direction Offsets: These settings allow to introduce various offset in the wind data received by TZ iBoat.
Sea Surface Temperature Offset: This setting allows you to introduce an offset in the SST received by TZ iBoat.
